Fellowship Program Overview

An extensive 35+ year tenure in radiology education & fellowship training, coupled with a robust nationwide teleradiology infrastructure, uniquely positions ProScan to offer a distinguished fellowship program. ProScan Imaging Fellows are among the most proficient and productive MR radiologists in the world, thanks to their unparalleled experience in state-of-the-art imaging techniques and extensive case volumes in advanced imaging.

Program Highlights:

  • Primary Focus (Approximately 75% Allocation): Musculoskeletal (MSK), Neurological (Neuro), Breast Imaging
  • Secondary focus area (Approximately 25% Allocation): MSK, Neuro, Cardiac, Body, Prostate, etc.
  • Personalized Lectures: Weekly lectures and case review with eminent radiology authorities, including Dr. Stephen Pomeranz & Dr. Donald Resnick
  • Daily readouts: Fellows engage in daily readouts alongside an expert radiologist form ProScan. Notably, Dr. Stephen Pomeranz personally oversees approximately 50% of these readouts ensuring direct mentorship & guidance.
  • Participation in case conference and interdisciplinary lectures, including neurosurgery and urology conferences, fostering a multifaceted learning experience
  • Self-paced learning: Partnership with Medality/MRI Online allows radiologists to access over 700 hours of case-based and micro-learning courses.

Curriculum Highlights

  • Clinical Volume: ProScan Imaging manages one of the largest advanced imaging teleradiology practices in the world, interpreting nearly 1,500 MR and advanced imaging examinations per day.
  • Breadth of Training: Examinations include sports medicine, emergency, elective, and screening studies from low-, mid-, and high-field MR systems and other advanced imaging such as CT, CCTA, and PET.
  • Case Mix: Vast case mix consisting of musculoskeletal; spine; brain, head, and neck; abdomen and body; breast; cardiovascular and miscellaneous MR.
  • Professional Support Services: The training program is an integral component of an active clinical teleradiology practice that is supported by a fully-staffed reading services team, fellowship support staff, fellowship director, information technology department, and state-of-the-art PACS/RIS systems.
  • Academic Infrastructure: Numerous opportunities are available to enrich the fellowship experience each year. Personalized lectures by distinguished, expert radiologists, participation in case conference and interdisciplinary lectures – including neurosurgery and urology conferences – fostering a multifaceted learning experience.
  • Weekly Teaching Conferences: Weekly conferences are didactic lectures and/or interesting case conferences organized to cover all aspects of clinical MRI and advanced imaging throughout the training year.

Opportunity Highlights

  • Robust Compensation Package including competitive base salary of $130,000 supplemented by optional moonlighting opportunities
  • Comprehensive benefits package including a 401K w/ match • Onsite positions available in either Naples, FL or Cincinnati, OH
  • Unique two-year program available for select candidates to combine fellowship training with an attending general radiology role.
  • This one-year fellowship prepares the trainee for practice in a wide variety of private and academic settings.
  • All Fellows are required to be ABR Board Certified or Board Eligible and have an Ohio and/or Florida Medical License at the commencement of the Fellowship or shortly thereafter.

Donald L. Renick, MD

  • Professor Emeritus of Radiology, University of California, San Diego
  • Twice-awarded AuntMinnie Most Effective Radiology Educator • Awarded Honorary Doctorate from the University of Zurich.
  • In 2018, ACR bestowed the Gold Medal on Dr. Resnick for his lifetime achievements.
  • Author of over 1,100 scientific and educational articles (more than 100 published in Radiology), 72 book chapters, and 16 books on musculoskeletal radiology.
